Summary
Connor Stern is a law school dropout who dreams of making it big in the music industry. He manages to get into a special apprenticeship program with the musical genius Elijah Kamski and, despite working two jobs and struggling to stay afloat, feels like his dream is finally within his grasp.
When Hank Anderson stumbles into the lounge Connor performs at, The Red Room, he becomes entranced with him. As Hank falls in love with Connor's voice, he ends up entangled with conflicting emotions and delicate situations. Slowly, his nights are filled with Connor's songs and his closeness, even if he feels he doesn't deserve it.
They reach several roadblocks along the way of getting closer, some more dangerous than others.
A collaboration written alongside Connor-sent-by-Cyberlife for the Reverse Big Bang 2024, told with a POV alternating between Hank and Connor.

After the car accident that nearly killed them both and left Cole in leg braces, Hank Anderson decided life was too short to not dedicate it to his kid. He left the DPD to open his own business where he could do work he loved that didn’t risk his life while always having time for Cole. Three years later, his handroasted coffeeshop is moderately successful, and he’s looking to hire a pastry chef to add bakery goods onto his menu.
Post-revolution, RK-800 Connor is looking for reliable, simple employment that will take him away from police & investigative work and give him a chance to get his head together as a new deviant. When Captain Fowler nudges him in Hank’s direction, it seems like a logical solution.
Nothing can run smoothly, though, and while Hank manages the stress of being a single father and owning his own business, Connor is balancing his own personal existential crisis with the fact that he doesn’t fit in anywhere and isn’t sure what kind of life he’s going to lead when Hank inevitably gets sick of him and lets him go. It isn’t even close to the ‘best’ of circumstances. But Connor’s starting to think if he isn’t real in Hank’s bakery, he isn’t real at all.

“I might be disobedient but I’m not heartless,” Chen Xing cut a piece of his leather belt and held it in front of Xiang Shu’s mouth. “Here, bite.”

Mating instincts.

“The Gymnopédies”, also known as “Trois Gymnopédies”, are three piano compositions written by French composer and pianist Erik Satie. Though the origin or reasoning behind their name is not clear, most sources point to the pianist taking inspiration from the poem of the same name.

Mingled their sarabande with the Gymnopaedia.The Gymnopédies may seem like the height of refined relaxation today, but in their time they were deeply subversive. They defied classical harmonies and structures, in keeping with the composer's generally iconoclastic spirit. Due to this, multiple versions of three pieces can be found, though the original thought and emotions that these conveyed doesn’t seem to change from adaptation to adaptation.
