Summary
In 1986, Lucius Malfoy overhears something he was never meant to know: Harry Potter has spent the last five years hidden in the Muggle world. What begins as disbelief becomes something far more personal when Lucius finds a malnourished six-year-old sleeping in a cupboard beneath the stairs.

Life went on after the Final Battle, even if Harry was able to see more than he let on after coming back from Purgatory/King's Cross. It was after the death of Teddy that he stopped caring and just pulled back from the shitshow that the wizarding world was becoming. Finding out it was the end of the world, didn't come as much of a surprise. Death appearing and telling him this could have been prevented did, even more so when he was told WHO it was that could have prevented this. Given the chance to rectify this with Magic's Chosen, Harry took the chance with both hands.

“Don’t worry, pet” Vernon said, his nasty grin triumphant, “I’ll leave him someplace so far away that those freaks will never trace him back to us. There’s an institute up north, for these- these hopeless cases and whatnot - St Brutus's Secure Centre for Boys. I’ll leave him there, and then we can get back to our nice, normal life”.Or, the one where Harry doesn't attend Hogwarts in first year but finds his way to the wizarding world anyway, and this changes everything.
