"I understand," Ascension says into Cid's breastplate. "Thank you." For taking care of me, for not hurting me, for being patient, for saving me; Ascension wants to say more but pain and trepidation stop him.
After a bit more walking, Ascension is maneuvered into one arm as Cid opens a door with a sharp, wooden creak. Ascension wills down any pained noises as his muscles shift uncomfortably. Cid quickly has Ascension tucked back against his chest as he steps into whatever room he's built.
"Ta-da!" Ascension lifts himself off Cid's shoulder with some difficulty and looks at where he's been taken.
Ascension instantly recognizes it as a bathroom.

Summary
After dying, Clover was forced to relive their day in the Underground over and over, remembering every death.
One day, though, they are revived by a helpful little flower! However, it isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Their body is broken and decaying, only being held together by magic and vines, and they're remembering fragments of other runs through the Underground.
When they finally reunite with their friends on the surface, Clover will have to learn how to live with a body that isn't theirs and memories that tell them everyone wants to kill them.
