Minhee threads her fingers into the hair at his nape and tugs his head back, his neck at a painful angle as he strains to make eye contact. “Are you going to continue to be my good boy?” She tightens her grip, “like I know you can be?”
Chan tries to nod, but can’t due to the hold his girlfriend has on him. He opens his mouth but Minhee cuts him off.
“Nuh-uh. Puppies can’t talk.”
Chan gulps, swallows down the lump in this throat, and lets out a pitiful yip. Minhee’s responding smile is deceptively sweet, but knowingly threatening; Chan represses a shiver.
