Summary
September arrived at the Ministry, exploding the surrounding woods with hues of red, orange, and yellow. The summer-warmed stone walls held on stubbornly to the season, but the gardens had begun to change their minds. The air carried the faint promise of rain as insects chirped their final calls before disappearing deep into the hedges.
Belladonna plants bowed beneath their own weight, leaves yellowing at the edges, berries dark and glossy like polished obsidian. Poppy knelt among them, gloved fingers moving with care. A basket lay at her side, already half filled with clusters of berries. Belladonna demanded patience - too firm a grip crushed the fruit and too light a touch left it clinging stubbornly to the plant. The nettle plants nearby released a bitter green scent in the air that stung the back of her throat as she clipped the stems and tossed them into the basket.
Nearby, a ghoulette lingered.

Summary
The greenhouse was always warm in July. The heat captured beneath the glass and iron so thick that even at dawn the air shimmered faintly above the stone floor. The world outside was damp with midsummer rain, but inside Poppy relished in her own dimension of cultivated care. Vines crawled up wooden trellises, tendrils so fine they looked like veins against the windowpanes. Herbs hung drying from beams overhead, whispering when the air shifted. Poppy had built this place into her sanctum, and the earth ghouls had done well maintaining it in her absence. Though the air was thick and humid, Poppy found that this was the one place she could breathe.
Though it was hard to steady it with someone else there.

Summary
The Cardinal stepped into the greenhouse, letting the door swing shut behind him. His scarlet cassock made him look like an accidental smear of paint on a canvas of green. He held a manila folder under one arm and approached her with a lopsided grin on his face.
“I brought something. I was told Papa Secondo’s assistant would be here.”
“I am here,” she said, still not looking up.
“Ah, good. Then I didn’t get lost!”
“You’re the new Cardinal?” Poppy asked, finally peeking at him in her peripheral vision.
“Sì, sorella. Copia. Cardinal Copia.”

Summary
Perpetua has known for decades that his twin brother is a sentimental dork. After showing up with a new 'companion feeder' (because that's what they're calling pets these days), Copia has been fangs-over-heels for her in the most sickeningly obvious way. Good thing Perpetua has never had any desire to have a pet. Lets just cross our fingers and hope that the Human Distribution System doesn't have a wild sense of humor, shall we?

Summary
In a world where humans have no hope of competing on an even economic playing field with immortals, they've still got one resource they can leverage--their living blood. You're a sweet girl, just trying to get by, when a rather awkward vampire seeks shelter from the rain inside the human-geared pet store where you work. Maybe it's the way you smell, or maybe it's the way he courts you like he's terrified you're going to skip town--but a few days later, you find yourself the kept human pet of one Copia Emeritus, head of the Satanic Ministry. There's just one little problem... you're scared to be bitten.

He knows himself when he’s in your arms. The man he used to be not quite so far away. And he can live with the rejection, he can live with it, as long as he has you. He’ll love you like he did all this time, nothing changed. Nothing changed. Only everything.
Or: Copia returns from tour—with a different name, a different job, a different life—only to find that your friendship is changing too. He takes this as well as can be expected.
