Summary

Summary
Harry Potter makes a deal with Death to resurrect Tom Riddle and get his annoying corrupted soul out of the afterlife. Harry only naturally does this because he wants to get a nice cushy afterlife that is denied to him because of the little soul shard lodged into the middle of his forehead.
Screw anyone's plan for his life, Harry is going to live for himself and find his own happy ending. IF that involves living alone with cats, and Death so be it. Of course, building a body, resurrecting Tom, and avoiding people that have plans for his fate and future goes sideways up the River Styx without a paddle. And of course, his worst roommate possible is adding water to the boat rather than bailing it out because he caught something called feelings and Harry might have fallen for him too.
There are other characters that get trapped on the journey of love and redemption. Most of them are cats, but who wouldn't love a hairless cat, his wonderful wife, and their raisin offspring. Certainly not Harry.

Yuuri stares back, uncomprehending, “Yeah, you have a cool name.”
“No, I mean,” Victor purses his lips, frowning in confusion, glancing to check if their Professor’s looking at them, “I’m like, Victor Nikiforov.”

The other man on the line lets out a giddy laugh, almost borderline maniacal. "I wanna... I wanna see you, Vitya!" Yuuri hiccups, and Viktor realizes that the weird buzzing in the background were car horns and the sounds of a busy interstate. "In fact, I'm coming over to your hotel right now!"
Viktor freezes, the phone from his hand almost dropping.
"Y-Yuuri-"
"A-And don't worry! I'm sure Mari won't mind me borrowing her car-"
"Yuuri-"
"What?" Yuuri snaps, slurred voice a little impatient. "Don't you miss me, Viktor?"
"Yuuri." Viktor barks out, voice more demanding now, and the man on the other line goes quiet.
"Be honest," Viktor sighs as he rubs his temples in sheer panic, hoping that the following question would never get the answer he feared.
"Are you drunk driving?"
Yuuri giggles, and Viktor knew he was too late.

The timers show three sets of numbers: the wearer's heart rate, their soulmate's heart rate, and the number of heartbeats until they see each other in person. Viktor's timer goes off the moment he lays eyes on Yuuri. Yuuri's does not. Viktor is determined to use the sixty-two million heartbeats left on Yuuri's timer to convince him it doesn't decide their fate.
Yuuri sees the zero on Viktor's timer and assumes he has a soulmate waiting for him to come home. He just wants to make it through the (approximately) two years until he finally gets the same. He can't help but wish it was Viktor.
