No one was as qualified to call themselves a Mydeimos Super Fan as Okhema Security Pvt. Ltd.'s most diligent cog in the system; Phainon.
A lucky opportunity had him brushing shoulders with an old bandmate from Mydei's early career days, and perhaps, if he was even luckier, the man of the hour himself. And so, Phainon hatched a semi-professional plan of working his way into his Idol's good graces.
What Phainon's plan, namely, did *not* involve was punching said Idol's million-dollar face to save his boss from a PR disaster. Nor did he expect it to work.

The question stung. Mydeimos’ jaw tightened. "It was foretold."
“Right. Foretold,” Phainon scoffed, as if it were a minor detail. “Well, no one’s foretold anything about me, so I guess I have to make my own way.”
One trained by fate, the other chasing it. The gods, of course, remain entertained.
Chiron watches them both, and wonders how many ways a heart could break.Or; Mydeimos and Phainon grow up together in the forest, undergoing a decade of training to become heroes.

These five knew something. Knew him or those voices.
So he gave them those two words burrowed somewhere deeper than his mind or body. Aedes Elysiae.
When Mydei finally emerges from the Sea of Souls after nine harsh winters, the most precious thing in the world to him isn’t his name, his body or his life. But two words he can’t remember the origin of: Aedes Elysiae.
As the years pass in exile, he finds himself plagued by knowledge that comes from the same maybe-past or maybe-future that wasn’t quite Mydei’s and yet was.
It took four years for him to stumble across Aedes Elysiae, a boy that calls the place home, and why those words were engraved upon his soul.

“Phainon… Phainon of Aedes Elysiae.”
The soldier nods, speaking gently once more.
“Phainon, hm? Mydei of Castrum Kremnos. I’ll stay with you until you die.”
Or, Phainon gets trapped in a time loop, returning to the morning before the day of battle each time he dies. He meets Mydei in every loop, repeating their first meeting again and again; Phainon himself falling harder each time. End the loop, save the world—until their tomorrow comes.

Genuinely gut-wrenching stuff. Exceptional writing, exceptional prose, exceptional characterisation. There was nothing as devastating to watch as their bond being severed like that near the end. Whoof.
It going full circle to fields of gold got me. Kiddo Mydei being in those fields as a distraction from the prophecy... and finding out near the end... tears. My sweet boy how tragic of a life fate granted you TvT. The YEARNING till that moment, however, was so very delicious. Author you have an amazing ability to write the passage of time and make it feel as heavy for the reader as for the characters. It feels as if you're growing older with the narration. I love it. And back to the yearning,,, it's so subtle and human OH my heart is aching again just thinking about it.
I'm going to be thinking about this for a bit !

Summary
Years after securing victory on the Astral Fantasia stage, Phainon and Mydei have become successful figures in Amphoreus's music scene. Separately, but still successful. Amphoreus is big enough that they never have to run into each other, and they're too busy to ever think much of it.
With the incoming 10 year anniversary of their winning song, a decade long streak might meet its end. Surely they can be adults about the whole thing.

RIDICULOUSLY fun and cute. My cheeks have never hurt so hard watching these two oblivious fucks play-fight with each other. In awe of how the authors mind works. The world is so vibrant and explosive with personality. The inner minds of both are also such a joy to read over. Lovely prose!
