Heeseung thought he saw the red eyes crinkle, almost into a smile. But before he could fully see the things face, he felt arms around his waist. Heeseung opened his mouth to say something, in a panic. But a hand covered his eyes, blocking his vision.

"When did I-" A rough hand was pushed onto Reo's mouth, silencing him immediately.
"Be quiet. Listen I'm going to make sure you never break your promise again." The grip on Reo's mouth tightened as he took in the pure desperation in Nagi's eyes. Even though Reo was in chains, Nagi looked as if he were the one who was trapped.

Fantasy AU where Nagi can't handle Reo's absence to the point of kidnapping! This is set in the same universe as my previous work and while reading it isn't strictly necessary, it does have a couple of key world building elements.

Reo had done all of this to him, he reminded himself. He’d taken the priceless, beautiful piece of unformed clay that was Nagi Seishiro and molded it into genius, and he’d believed that selfish act of creation gave him the right to tweak and fiddle the same way with Nagi’s undeveloped sexuality: teach him how to like what Reo liked, spoil him with decadent pleasures, addict him to having whatever he wanted whenever he wanted it, and make him believe he couldn’t get it anywhere else. He’d done this to him, so now he had to take responsibility.

To those who can cross to the other side, reincarnation is what awaits. But souls tied down by ugly emotions of regret are unable to move on, becoming a corrupt version of themselves. Shredded of their humanity by the cruel passage of time, watching people come and go, in silence. Unheard.
Reo was bright, every part of him screamed to be seen, to be heard, like he was still alive and time just stopped for him. But he wasn't, the dark bruises around his neck and the grimly contorted eyes that followed him around made it, so, painfully clear.
He shouldn't, he knows he shouldn't, but something about Reo drews Nagi in, trapping him, dragging him down.
A little longer, it shouldn't hurt to be with him just a little longer.
