He watches Madara - this strange, half-human version of him, with his pale cheek laid on the grey stone and his black hair fanned over the rocks. His hand, over Tobirama’s heart, and their legs twined together as though they share a bed instead of a cavern floor, and intimacy instead of endless, spreading hate. But every bit of warmth Madara’s touch bleeds into him isn’t love. It’s infection, the cloying heat of a throbbing wound, the sweating fever in the night and the delirium of the sick.

He drops the blindfold to the table between them. It lands on bare parchment, beneath the last drying stroke of Madara’s writing.
“Put it on me.”
Madara sets the brush down, and covers the inkstone with a soft clack of wood. He doesn’t touch the strip of cloth, fallen in a shapeless character at the bottom of his letter, and he doesn’t stand.
“Good evening,” he remarks, with that odd half-smile of his. “Have you been well?”
Tobirama crosses his arms tight over his chest. His feet are braced, his yukata crossed over high against his throat despite the summer heat, and it’s taking a considerable share of discipline not to back away from what he’s started.
“Please,” he says, word heavy in his mouth when he remembers to add it. “Allow me to try again.”

He’s smiling like a fool when he balances the brim-full shochu cup right on the flat of Tobirama’s bare stomach, trying not to laugh as he lifts his hand up and away slowly. It tilts - precarious for a moment on a narrow base - and slowly settles with Tobirama’s breath.
“You’re trapped,” Madara informs him, still grinning wide enough that he almost spills his own sip of shochu from the corner of his mouth. He sits back at leisure, back resting against one of the smooth wooden posts and surveys the man laid out before him. “At my mercy.”
Tobirama makes that stifled, puffing noise that stands for laughter in his own private language.
Or: one night in an unexpectedly pleasurable marriage.
