Qui-Gon unconsciously clutched Obi-Wan closer to his chest. His young Padawan made a high-pitched noise of protest but did not resist the motion, limp in Qui-Gon’s arms.
“This is killing him,” Qui-Gon said, looking up at the guard with uncharacteristic desperation in his eyes. “You don’t understand, I can take this dose but he can’t.”
But the guard was not swayed.
[Or: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are captured and Obi-Wan is overdosed on Force-suppressants.]

Obi-Wan was expecting a lot of different things when he confronted his fallen padawan on the Death Star. He was not naive enough to expect to survive the battle. No, he was prepared to enter into a peaceful rest beyond. So when Obi-Wan woke in the Healing Halls of a home long destroyed, he was rightfully confused. The Force was not done with him yet, it seemed. The Force had granted Obi-Wan the chance to change the horrific future that awaited them all, and Obi-Wan was never one to disobey the Force’s will. Obi-Wan would change the future, even if it meant he needed to leave the Jedi Order to do it. After all, Obi-Wan was on a sacred mission!
Now, if only these Mandalorians would leave him alone so he could continue his journey, that’d be great! Obi-Wan may look like a child, but he certainly wasn’t one! (The strange childish feelings and urges notwithstanding)
Meanwhile, Jaster Mereel was willing to fight everyone to keep this small Jedi ad safe. As far as the Mandalorians were concerned, the Jedi had lost their claim to the youngling the second he ran away. Even if the youngling seemed determined to go on some strange mission, Jaster would make sure that the ad stayed at home where he belonged.

Summary
You already know how the story goes: after dying at the hands of Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi wakes up in the body of his younger self years before the rise of the Empire. Having been given a second chance, Obi-Wan raises Anakin Skywalker to be slightly less homicidal, stops a number of Jedi from falling and/or dying, prevents the War, reforms the Jedi Order, befriends a Mandalorian or two, curbstomps Palpatine, etc. It takes many years and a few hundred thousand words of being very badass while pretending not to have PTSD around his loved ones, but eventually, Obi-Wan prevents a horrible future that only he knows about and gets a happy ending.
This is not that story.
This is the story of how, just before the grand climax of his time travel fix-it, Obi-Wan Kenobi loses a few decades of his memory, reverting him to the person he was at the age of thirty-six — the first time. Now no one knows about the horrible future Obi-Wan is supposed to prevent, least of all Obi-Wan himself. Whoops.

Summary
Their first act of rebellion might just be their last.
They were distracted when the wrecked ship suddenly made a groaning noise. The metal whined as if something bent it, moving it. But that was not possible. It should not be possible. Both rebels froze as their eyes locked onto the origin of the noise. Blaster fire halted as everyone watched the ship with confusion and interest.
A hand punched through the rubble, catching the attention of both the troopers as well as the rebels. The figure pulled themselves up slowly, climbing out on top of the wreckage.
A copper haired humanoid man, dressed in robes and white battle armour stood on top of the rubble. The sigil on his shoulder proudly bearing the symbol of the Jedi Order which fell so long ago. With his features almost shining in the dim light, his eyes glowed blue but seemed glazed over, unseeing but drawn to the light regardless.
That was a Jedi.
“...General Kenobi?”
They flinched violently when the Jedi turned his gaze in their direction. Blue glowing eyes aimed in their direction but not quite on them, like the Jedi could not see them.

The artifact glowed in Kenobi’s hands, consuming his entire body in a brilliant crystal blue. Dooku watched—half horrified, half entranced—as the box split open, the brush of the unifying force breathing in sync with the living. "A single touch from a single soul creates an unimaginable shift in the force," the descriptions of the artifact had uttered. The words couldn’t even begin to describe the shift in the air, the impenetrable tick of gears turning. And then, almost as soon as it began, the swirling blue light tucked itself back into the artifact with a soft hiss, leaving behind a man who was nothing like the general Dooku knew.
Standing in front of him was a young Jedi Knight who looked very much afraid.
“Grandmaster?” Obi-Wan whispered.
Or in other words: During the late Clone Wars, Obi-Wan accidentally touches an ancient Jedi artifact, which transports his grieving Post-Naboo self into the future to take his place. Somehow this saves the galaxy.

Summary
There were moments, when Obi-Wan was a padawan, which Qui-Gon would describe as reckless impulses of sheer stupidity in the dressing down that followed. It was a rare occasion indeed when Qui-Gon could accuse him of not thinking. However, when such an occurrence did happen, they were often warranted. The times when Obi-Wan stops thinking are usually out of desperation and, therefore, the karking stupidest decisions he ever makes.
Like now. He doesn’t think. Doesn’t have time to think, because Ahsoka’s dropping farther away and Anakin’s fear is sharp over the bond, and the decision to run the three steps to the threshold and jump is made before his mind can catch up.
