I always wondered given that we've been told that Garrus and his father really weren't on speaking terms just how they sorted things out enough to get Garrus the position of Reaper Advisor.
This is my take on it.
Slightly AU because I always thought it was stupid that Shepard never seemed to have evidence proving the threat the Reapers represented. I cover that here.
