Summary
Kim learned early that shame was a bodily function. It did not begin in the face, where other children could point and laugh and say there, there it is, look at him. It began much lower, in the hot, soft lining of the gut. By the time Dom entered his life, Kim had already mistaken several feelings for discipline— and the first thing Kim felt when Harry was kind to him— was dread.
