Aki doesn’t seem to find pleasure in smoking. Doesn’t seem to be an addict waiting for his next hit. Out there on the balcony, the faint glow of the cigarette illuminating his fingertips, he instead looks like a man in atonement. For what, Angel isn’t sure. Aki has always been what most humans would call a good man.
Angel steps outside. Aki glances at him.
“You always look so miserable out here,” Angel says.
“Do I?” Aki’s voice is soft, like speaking too loud would interrupt the low drone of insects singing under the stars.
Angel shrugs. “More than you normally do, anyway.”
Aki exhales through his nose like a muted laugh. “Didn’t realize you paid that close of attention.”
“I don’t.” A lie.
Aki stares at him for a moment. Takes a slow drag. “I’m not miserable,” he says quietly. “I just…” he trails off.
Angel waits. The insects sing. Aki sighs.
“Do you ever think that maybe you’re just… not meant for the things you want?”--------
In the months leading up to Aki's death, the Angel Devil unexpectedly moves into his apartment.

Summary
As the official rival of the other, Berdly was expected to know a lot about the human. And he played that part spectacularly! What they found humorful, what got under their skin. Their favorite foods, and what they would refuse to eat. How they stood and how they walked. Their mains in Super Smashing Fighters, their favorite and least favorite biomes in Minecrap. Berdly could name any of it. He had to know it, if he wanted to fiercely compete and effectively irritate them.
And the way Kris was standing, completely straight rather than having a slouch. The way they stepped into the classroom, as if unfamiliar to using legs. How their neck turned and glanced around the room, as if they had never stepped foot in this room before in their life.
It was nothing like Kris.
Or: Berdly, somehow, puts together Kris' SOUL situation. And sort of figures out his feelings for the human in the process.

Summary
Once there was an explosion. A bang which gave rise to life as we know it. And then came the next explosion. An explosion that will be our last.
The main cast of deltarune has suddenly been plagued with haunting dreams that come off as surreal fever dreams or something you would see after smoking them green leaves in dess’ bedroom. but when things start getting a little too real to be passed of as hallucinations, well. Some things are definitely meant to be kept away from open eyes.
