“Did he?” he didn’t know this. These days, his teammates were more informed about Sam’s activities than him.
Yelena hummed in confirmation, frustration clear in her voice. He was frustrated, too. But there was nothing he could do about it.
“You know,” said Walker. “None of this would have happened if you two would have just–” he made a gesture with his hands that went unseen by Bucky.
Yelena let out a soft gasp. He heard Ava giggle. Someone, probably Bob, had let out a whimper. He sighed and looked up at John.
“If we just what?” he snapped.
“You know,” said John, looking around, “Bone.”

“Hi Sam,” he said, cautiously. He was still awkwardly standing on the other side of the room. A safe distance away in case any flying objects come his way.
“Bucky,” was all he got in return.
Shit.
“So you saw the news, huh?” he said, pointing over to the TV. The news from earlier today was still playing. He saw grainy footage that people took on their phones of other people disappearing into shadows. And then he saw himself and his team and Valentina smiling and introducing them as the New Avengers. “So this really crazy thing happened, you wouldn’t believe it, Sam.”
“Nope,” interrupted Sam. “Start over.” He had still not looked up at Bucky.
“I was honestly just doing my job–”
“No.”

“Stop that. I’m an old man!” he said, stopping in the middle of the pool, with Armand farther away now. Armand just giggled like a schoolgirl and splashed him in the face.
“Armand!”
“Daniel!” said the devil, mocking his tone.
“Come to me.”
In a blink of an eye, Armand was in front of him. His arms once again wrapped around Daniel’s waist. Daniel felt lighter. Armand was holding them afloat. For a minute he imagined Armand floating them up in the air. What would it feel like to fly? Had they done that before? That reminded Daniel of what he was doing here.
He wanted to kiss Armand but he wanted answers more.

There was a beat. And then Lily started giggling. James just looked at her with wide eyes not sure what was so amusing.
"Wow," she said in between giggles, "I can't believe this! Wow."
James just looked at her with the same confused and concerned expression, and Lily giggled some more.
"James," she had said his name for the first time. "I didn't even notice your friends. Just like you didn't notice mine."
Okay, now he was really confused, "What?"
"Marlene, Dorcas, and Mary have been following us around everywhere! I was so focused on them and their antics that I didn't even notice your friends doing the same."
"Oh wow," said James, "So all our friends are nosy gits then." He grinned and they both cracked up again.

As his mind went blank, and the bottle of OJ sliped from his hand very dramatically falling at his feet, Peter blurted out to The Captain America, "you're gay?".
