Summary
They don’t wear armor while they teach, they use blunted feders, training swords, no helmets. The knight promises his squire that he won’t take an eye out. They discuss this, how the squire will throw firm, skilled cuts, but always be parried away and gently killed for the class' benefit.

An original story about a Knight who starts teaching swordplay classes as he recovers from an injury, and the squire he uses as his dummy. It goes well for them, and then it goes terribly. This is secretly a saccharine love story, I'm sorry.

"Contrary to popular belief," Gideon butts in, "her face just fuckin' looks like that, bitch." She tends to use "bitch" as liberally as commas when off her ass.
"You're piss drunk," you shoot back.

“You alright there, sweetcheeks?” the redhead asks slyly. She shifts forward on her sculpted forearms, intrigued. The sheer audacity is met only with Harrow’s dumbstruck expression.
Harrow’s throat feels impossibly arid and tacky, almost to the point of pain. Rendered speechless by pseudo-eye contact. A slightly less overt invitation to banter might have involved fanfare and a formal inquiry written in script. Flirting is not a wholly unknown concept to her, but still daunting nevertheless, the beginning of a ten mile hike. The brief point of contact had been the first step. One, hopefully, that would be the beginning of many.
Instead of embarking on the second step, Harrow turns on her heels and briskly exits the cafe.
