This AU splits off from early on in Season 5 (between 5X02 and 5X03) so the timeline and character development diverge further from canon the deeper into the story things get.
I also incorporated an idea from 3X26 (Once Upon A Time) that no matter what, certain things will happen, regardless of which timeline you are looking at. With that idea in mind, there are elements of canon (specific cases/characters/scenarios from points in Season 5) which will be woven loosely into the rest of the series moving forward.
