"Wait...I—fine. Okay.” There is a shaky sigh, then the rustle of fabric and a sudden flare of that sweet honey scent, sharp and intoxicating in the way that leaves no room to breathe.
No room for logical thought as Akutagawa turns.
And he shouldn’t have turned. Shouldn’t have even left the palace in the first place.

He never found Dazai’s corpse. It was as if the man vanished into thin air, like wisps of smoke drifting out into the wind. Right then and there, everything in Atsushi’s meager little world came crashing down as the pain of losing his boss, his beacon, bore him high into the air where he seemed to stay afloat. Disconnected. Weightless.
Without his orders, he was like a marionette with its strings cut.
