When Daenerys body is brought to a Red Priestess, she cannot be saved. But her and Jon’s unborn child can. The boy is brought to Meereen, to be raised by the council still loyal to the Targaryens. Septimus has one son, named Abraxas. His son, Lucius Malfoy, marries a Lannister, Narcissa.
Their son grows restless in Meereen. Draco craves adventure and knowledge. On one of his travels, he is found by Drogon. The ancient beast bonds to him and Draco feels the fire he knew Daenerys once felt. He sails to Dragonstone, where he is greeted by a fiery woman of vast knowledge and cunning. Sent by Maester Dumbledore, it is quickly realized she was used as a means to remove Draco’s threat to the crown; there can only be one King. With both Draco and Harry having strong claims, the seven kingdoms are divided in loyalty. Do they keep the peace that has reigned since the Starks took over over a century ago, or do they follow the strongest claim to the crown?

On Hiatus 6/8/2024
This fic was set to private for a few months. I struggled with the fact that I lost the confidence I needed to continue working on a story that I love so much. Regardless of whether I ever regain enough courage to complete it, I'm proud of where I am with it for now. So back up it goes. It's not abandoned but is not actively being worked on at this time.
"Muggleborn." Draco interrupts Lupin.
"Muggleborn?"
"Yes. If you require that I be Polyjuiced to work alongside the Order, I'll agree to it, but I won't be masquerading as a half-blood."
Lupin tilts his head in confusion. "I admit, I don't understand. Is this some misguided idea of penance?"
"Penance? No, you da..." Draco takes in a deep breath and then lets it out harshly. "No. I told you I want proximity. Your Order needs her, and no one has as much of a vested interest in her safety as I do. If Snatchers find us, and they think I'm a half-blood, do you think I have a shot in hell at going where they take her? No. Muggleborn. Or I have no interest in your ruse. Understand?"
Lupin gapes at the resolved pureblood. "Yes. I'm beginning to."

Amidst reuniting with a family she doesn’t remember and steeling herself to testify against the man who raised her, she meets Jon Snow. He isn’t family- not biologically at least- but he’s a calming presence in the storm that has become her life, and he might be the only person in the world who doesn’t expect anything of her.
The one where Sansa Stark is discovered to be the Westerosi version of the Lindbergh baby, but things turn out better, if more complicated.

Now all the “what ifs” she’s spent contemplating are possible and she’s promised the Old Gods she would do anything to save her family and the people of the North even if that meant staining her honor, allying with old enemies, or entering yet another unwanted marriage.

He dreams of the Stark estate, nestled deep in the Vermont countryside, he dreams of running through the halls with Robb, snowball fights with Arya and Bran, watching little Rickon teeter around on his tiny legs, helping Sansa gather flowers from the gardens. He dreams of playing hide and seek, running through the woods, breathless and joyous and free.
He dreams of Ned's hand on his shoulder and Catelyn's warm hug.
He dreams of coming home from school one day to the bodies of Ned and Cat on the floor of the kitchen and Robb's body by the back staircase. He dreams of hearing a small noise upstairs and finally finding the rest of them huddled in a closet on the second floor, Sansa with her arms around the others and fear in her eyes.

Summary

There are preservation laws for Free Folk culture that prevent "stolen brides" from being removed from their spouses when Westerosi law comes to call. Jon has a friend with two daughters who is willing to steal her if she'll only agree to be there as a grounding presence in his children's lives. A husband that Jon trusts is surely better than the hell her life has become.
