“No,” Lu Guang murmurs. He stares at his hands, and all he sees when he closes his eyes is his palms covered in blood. Cheng Xiaoshi’s slick fingers weakly gripping his own. In this timeline, there is no blood. Nothing has happened that should, and everything has happened that shouldn’t. “It isn’t that,” he finishes.
Silence. An inhale. “Isn’t it?” Cheng Xiaoshi asks. A moment passes. “I told you I loved you, and I’ve never seen you look so sad.”

Summary
Morning finds Cheng Xiaoshi sitting on the edge of his bed, bare feet planted on the ground and elbows on his knees. The dim sunlight that peeks through their blinds kisses the crown of his head with its cold glow. They had not been able to afford blackout curtains when first furnishing, and neither of them had pushed. It’s fine, Lu Guang had said when Cheng Xiaoshi sheepishly brought it up, I don’t mind.
Cheng Xiaoshi does not like the dark. Lu Guang thinks that he could not love him more.
One day of the weekend, abbreviated.

Summary
It was with great horror that he realised his body wasn't as repulsed as his brain while gazing upon the display. Sat on the altar, the cause of his current frustrations appeared almost divine. His skin looked warm under the candlelight, framed by the reds and greens pouring in from the stained glass, skin inviting his touch, looking like his lips would melt if they were taken between his own. His hair spilled over velvet covered shoulders like fine silk, curling out from the moisture in the air, resembling dark wine from where the light poured. Green eyes glinted with mischief, always appearing younger than they truly were. His elegant fingers tapped silently on the altar, counting each second with remarkable precision.
Mizrak's body was starting to get less than virtuous ideas.

Akira sighs, drawn out and generous. He reeks of alcohol, but also something sweet, like candied fruit, like hopes and dreams.
"Wow. Keep that up and you're gonna be a real ladykiller one day," Akira says with a chuckle and goes back to his task of merging his face with Goro's shoulder.
Goro frowns.
He wants to say, I’m not into girls. But then he thinks about all the years that have passed and comes to the conclusion that he's not really into boys either.
He just likes Akira. That's all.

Summary
That's the truth- he’s afraid of Kurusu. He’s anxious of what Kurusu gets from him, what he must think of Akechi, and he’s afraid of the fact that it matters to some small, pulsing part of him, wedged between his ribs. That doesn’t matter right now, though, or ever, because he has a goal and he won’t get sidetracked thinking about wastes of time, like boys with a staring problem.
For someone who’s so dedicated to the truth, Kurusu seems surprisingly content with ignoring the warped hellscape where the dead are raised and fiction is truth in favor of watching Akechi like it’s the last time they’ll ever see each other.
(Akechi is back from what should have been total extermination. He's more than bothered by that, but he'll ignore it in favor of delving into Mementos and arguing with smarmy baristas that think they know him- even if he reveals some things he didn't mean to along the way.)

It was weird how sad this boy's smile turned all of a sudden.
“Maybe in another life.”
Goro Akechi isn't sure why this weird boy keeps on getting blackmailed. But apparently he's the only one he can turn to and apparently Akira Kurusu knows him quite well and apparently he'd been already in love with him before he ever met him.
