Harry takes a determined step forward, but Kim’s palm is already in the middle of his chest, stopping him.
“Rules, officer.” Kim says in his sternest voice, and Harry bows his head like a begging dog.
“I’ll be so good,” he promises.
“I’m sure.” Kim takes a long breath. This is probably a mistake, but then, maybe it would be nice to live a little. “This is a Mesque-themed place. Behind the curtain is the dance floor, which also features a mechanical bull. People challenge themselves into staying on it as long as possible, often in ridiculous or skimpy outfits. There is a gallery with railings all around the room on the second level that gives great khm…observation spots. Now,” Kim lifts his index finger in the air, severe. “No touching of any kind. People will probably rub on you, but I want you to keep your hands on your drinks for tonight.” He lifts his other fingers in time with the commands he is laying down. “No hollering, no bellowing, no drooling.”
It’s good that there are no more fingers to raise, because Kim is overtaken with the urge of adding, *no barking*, which would be insane, and yet feels necessary to specify somehow.
“That’s a lot of rules,” Harry grumbles.

„Who the fuck are you?” asks the dead man, eyes white and swollen, face bloated and pale.
„Shut the fuck up,” hisses Harry.
„What's your fucking problem?” Jean snaps at him.
„That wasn't for you, it was for him,” Harry nods toward the corpse and leans in to pry open its mouth for a better look. Jean wrinkles his nose and exhales sharply, annoyed.
„You even slept during those three days you vanished off the goddamn map?” he growls and keeps searching the coat, this time feeling inside the lining. His fingers find a soggy tissue.
„Shut the fuck up,” Harry repeats, abandoning the mouth and starting to feel along the neck.
„What’s he saying now?” Jean smirks, holding up the soggy tissue smeared with ink.
„That wasn’t for him, it was for you,” Harry snaps.
„You two’r a nice couple,” says the corpse, mouth hanging open at a weird angle.

VOLITION — This is not easy, when you have a massive crush on the lieutenant.
DRAMA — There's more comedy than the angsty title would suggest, although the fic delves into Kim's old partner, Eyes.
ELECTROCHEMISTRY — Hey, at least there's porn in Chapter 3.
