At the sound of his voice, a small change crossed Scar’s face. He relaxed a bit, mouth pulling into a polite smile. “Well, if a good kisser is all you need,” Scar said. “I’ve never gotten any complaints.”

Summary
Scar has transferred to start his second year at Hermiton University of Craft and Engineering in London, ready to leave America behind. What he doesn’t expect is to recognise one of his fellow students from his flight –Grian, and his adorable cat.
Grian is back in England after a decade in the States, settling into business classes and hiding his cat in a dorm he technically shouldn’t have. Seeing his friends again is a breath of fresh air and meeting an attractive dude on his flight that happens to be attending the same university him was certainly a bonus.
With Scar adapting to the differences between America and England, and Grian finally feeling at home after ten years, the two grow close.
But not everything can be a fairy tale.

“You know Grian, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a panda before.” Scar states casually, as if that isn’t the most insane thing to say with no prior context.
“What do you mean by that Scar?” There’s an obviously-tired tone to Grian’s voice, which can be easily explained by the fact they’re lounging in their living room, sprawled across each other with a blanket carelessly tossed over them both. They had just finished watching a claymation movie Grian demanded they watch around Christmas every year and were soon to head off to bed.
Scar tells his boyfriend Grian he doesn't believe in pandas and Grian sets out to prove they exist.
Somewhere along the way, Scar realises he wants to marry him as soon as possible.

The snow beneath his boots crunches deceptively — soft on top, slick underneath. Every step feels like a gamble. Scar takes one step forward, foot immediately sliding on the slippery ice. He barely recovers, windmilling a little before jamming the shovel into the ground for balance.

“No.”
“Oh, you absolutely did.”
“I adjusted.”
“You almost ate it.”
“I would never.”
Grian grins. “Bambi.”
Scar whirls on him. “Don’t call me that.”

The ghost only winced slightly, brushing off his shoulder where it had landed. “I’ll give you some credit, that hurt a lot more than the last guy’s.”
“You— what—?”
With that, the ghost landed on his feet and stepped the few steps to close the gap, hands clasped behind his back as he looked up at Scar, eyes critical as they studied him. There was something almost bird-like in the way he tilted his head, in the way he slowly blinked, in the way he held himself. It was fascinating. “Let me make this a little easier for you— I’m Grian. I’m not where I’m supposed to be, and there’s no getting rid of me. So either leave or get used to it.”

His countenance was a lot different to how it had been prior, something easier, as if a huge weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. “Now, that makes two of us.”
“Do you ever wish you had one?” Scar asked, and Grian couldn’t help but think it an odd question from Mr. I've always hated the idea that fate decides who I love. But it was a question he had an answer to.
“I don’t think I ever got the chance to wish for one, I accepted my own fate before I got to wonder what another would be like.”

Grian took a few photos of his own, definitely not as artistically good but they did the job they needed to. But, when Scar pulled down the bouquet, there was an innocently upset frown on his face.
So Grian walked up to him and placed a careful hand on his cheek, checking him over for anything wrong only to come up short. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah,” Scar replied, sounding honest enough, but then he pulled up the bouquet and spun it around, revealing a single dead flower, “I didn’t realise.”
Until then, all the bouquets had been perfect, full of life and promise and longevity.
The streak could only last so long though, he supposed.

“How do I know?” The kid spits, knife raised again, trembling violently. His eyes are wet, angry and pleading and piercing right down into Grian’s soul.
“...If I can fly?” Grian asks, confused. His heart is beating fast.
The boy shakes his head violently, taking a lurching step forward, now only a few feet away. Something about his eyes almost seems familiar, but the thought is fleeting. The knife looks sharp. The child is crying, slow tears that barely have an effect on his voice.
“No,” the kid says forcefully. “How do I know you’re not a zombie?”

A young Scar fresh from a world overtaken by zombies stumbles through The Rift onto Hermitcraft, and is quickly adopted by the rest of the Hermits, who have no idea who he actually is.

Etho closed his eyes, “Anyone who doesn’t have a planned roommate, has a chance of being paired with him…”
Scar dramatically fell to his knees. Etho bowed his head. Grian judged. He judged hard.

relationships, drama, evil corporations. this fic was an abandoned work, but now? It's completely revamped. theres an attempted at plot, angst, lots of shenanigans, and overall very hermit-y.
but it’s mainly the hermits goofing off as a group doing experiments and creating random things that are minecraft related. I might change the tags to relationships when it gets up to it in the story! enjoy!

“Well when the people are in danger you need to have fast thinking and make quick decisions.” Hawkeye responded with ease. The interview on screen was definitely done fairly quickly, seeing how everything had only gone down last night.
“Who do you think is behind it? People are saying they saw The Watcher by the action, any input?”
Hawkeye hesitated before responding. “I don’t think The Watcher is someone we have to worry about, I’m sure he only wants the best for our city.”
“That’s our hero, as optimistic as ever.”

Hawkeye is a hero. Until, well, he’s not. The Watcher is a vigilante, don’t worry, he stays like that.

For a moment, Scar thought he saw Grian’s gaze dip again, but with distance between them, and the glare from a lamp on the other man’s glasses, he couldn’t be entirely sure. It made his heart squeeze all the same.
Grian straightened, huffing, “No.”
Scar hesitated. “Are you sure?”
“Positive,” Grian said. He leaned into the couch cushions, his countenance changing with the wave of a hand. His face relaxed, his legs crossed in front of him, and a wide smile split his lips. “You’ll pay for what you’ve done in due time.”
