As soon as Brian had said it, he regretted it. With urgency in his steps and in the absence of a mind of his own, Masky turned and obliged to the direct order he had been waiting for. Before Brian could reach out or object against his own command, his accomplice had already disappeared into the darkness of the night.
Guilt gnawed at the hooded man's chest; he dangles on a leash of his own longing, constricting him until he bit and nipped at whoever neared. He was no better than a dog.
OR,
Brian, battling with his loss of self and yearning for any kind of interaction resorts to finding love through a stupid porcelain mask worn by his empty shell of his former best friend.

“I’m going to die soon.”
Daichi looked up from his reading at Suga’s sudden words.
“What?”
“I said I’m going to die soon,” he repeated calmly.
The setter, who was lying on his back on the bed, rolled over onto his side and looked down at where Daichi was sitting on the floor. Daichi set down his book beside him. Suga gave him a small smile. Daichi frowned.
“Don’t say that.”
“Why not? Because it’s true?” When Daichi didn’t reply, Suga reached out and tousled his hair. “I’m sorry. I know it’s hard for you to hear me say things like that. But it helps me come to terms with it. Do you understand?”
Daichi closed his eyes and sighed. “I do.”
When Suga is diagnosed with cancer, it takes everything in Daichi's power to accept that within the year his best friend would no longer be alive. Taskforce 141 is the only squad composed of exclusively revenants, individuals who gain powers after dying once. Ghost is the revered revenant Lieutenant, who's powers are unknown to most and are only referred to as "Limbo".
Ghost works alone. Until a certain Scot shows up.

Soap hates medical leave, and just before the mission, a medical leave ended. So when he gets injured again, of course he doesn't tell anyone. Problem is, Ghost is a bit more perceptive than everyone else, and he's not gonna let Soap torture himself.
Or
Soaps a fucking idiot and almost kills himself just to avoid medical leave, and Ghost is just as much of an idiot but he loves Soap and is not gonna watch him not care for himself.

Summary
Soap had found Ghost, and they made it out of the city of Las Almas, but Soap was still injured, a bit worse than he made it out to be, and they had a long ways to go before they were safe.
Or
The bullet actually went into Soaps arm instead of just grazing it, he had taken a few bullets to the vest, and had been hit in the head, so while trying to get them to Alejandros safe, Ghost also has to take care of Soap and make sure he makes it. Angst ensues.
