Jinshi was in serious trouble now. With the Emperor’s children continuing to grow sick and die, he’s not sure where to go from here. The doctors were at a complete loss, and it seems that the chains of his future tighten with each passing day. At least until a young apothecary girl with sharp blue eyes, a splattering of freckles, and was as blunt as a hammer comes into his life. Despite having everything handed to him on a silver platter, Jinshi had lived a lonely and dull life where he learned to hide his true face behind a façade he presents to the court… until he meets Maomao.
For the first time, someone sees past his mask to his true self and she fills his world with color. Jinshi's feelings for Maomao evolve from initial curiosity and amusement to deep affection and romantic interest until he realized he cannot live without her.
This is going to be a retelling of the Apothecary Diaries only they’re told from Jinshi's POV, based on both the anime and light novels. From his first meeting with Maomao to at least to the final episode of season 2.

Jinshi stood up slowly, carrying Maomao in such a familiar way it almost made his knees buckle again.
Like back then, when she saved his life from that assassination attempt and got hurt.
But she wasn't just unconscious this time. She wouldn't wake up and complain about being made to rest again. He wouldn't see her dance on the east wall again, in her flowing dress with a bloody leg. He wouldn't see her dance again at all… ever.
Or, the reunion between our favourite moon prince and his beloved apothecary in Season 2 Episode 46 was underwhelming, at least the scene itself. So I've taken it upon myself to make it a lot worse.
