Summary
Everything hurt. It wasn’t the sharp kind of pain, rather it was more of a dull ache, one that went deep. Past skin and flesh and bone until it festered in his soul. It wasn’t the worst pain he had ever been in, not by a long shot, but Vash was tired.
The heat of the twin suns was beating down on him, the sand under his feet a little too soft and crumbly. He had strayed off the save paths at some point and it made walking hard as his feet sunk in more than ankle deep with every step. It was fine. He had meant to get away after all. The people of the town didn’t want him there and he understood why.

Vash was having it rough but sometimes, all it took was a little bit of kindness from a stranger to make things alright.
