Kai was ditched by his friends again. Well, not really, Cole, Nya, and Lloyd wanted to go on the boardwalk rides, and there was no way Kai was doing that. So Kai just kept walking along the shoreline. Kai ended up on a secluded part of the shore. He started building stuff out of sand. After an hour, he felt like someone was watching him. he finally saw a tuft of auburn hair sticking out of the water, but the second Kai called after it, the person swam away. Kai had felt so warm around Jay for a while. He wanted nothing more than to spend his entire days with him, playing video games all night long just to hear him talk, shove Jay around so he could touch him, and that hug earlier? It was all excuses.
Did Jay feel the same? It wasn't like he didn't encourage any of these behaviours. He was playing with his hair before. He did it often. Did he prefer Kai's hair flat and soft so that he could play with it? His gelled hair was so much tougher. And god, Jay literally was touching his abs. Who does that?

AU of Kai and Jay bffs but they're actually in love with one another. They kiss and now are questioning their friendship

Kai doesn’t believe in fate. Not at all. The idea that there’s some sort of invisible power pushing events in the universe to happen is entirely ridiculous to him. He’s not one to say, “science would say otherwise,” but he’s never really believed in magic. And to Kai, the idea of a destined outcome to life is impossible, weird, and a bit creepy. So he doesn’t believe in fate.
And yet somehow, every other time he goes into an airport, he manages to keep running into the same damn guy.

Jay collects himself though and joins me, our shoulders brushing slightly. My heart leaps but I need to remember where I am, what we’re doing, and who I’m with. I shouldn’t be thinking about Jay like this. I shouldn’t be imagining what it’d be like to have closed the gap between us just then.
But what if I had? Would that’ve been my only chance?

Kai finds solace in the sky and nature to hide the fact he likes Jay. He and Jay go for an evening stroll in the harbour and one thing leads to another... Kai can finally come to terms with his feelings and stop hiding behind metaphors. And maybe Jay doesn't entirely want to remain just friends..

And he would fully agree if it wasn't for the fact he was hopelessly in love with his boss Rody Lamoree, a talented fashion designer who seemingly had no interest of pursuing new romance for he had promised eternal loyalty to his late wife.
