The scribe’s gaze was enough to let Kaveh know that he wasn’t convinced. So, defeated, he opened his fist and showed everyone the flower petals on his palm. There was a glint of panic and frustration in his expression, then he quickly said—before anyone even asked, “Uhh, surprise! Flowers! Yeah, I was practicing a new magic trick for my next presentation! Ahaha,”
