Summary
Vi rolled her eyes slightly, shrugging and still refusing to meet her sister’s gaze. “Right. So you find me a date that doesn’t know what I look like, I go out with her looking… less hot, and then if she sticks around that proves she likes me for my great personality.”
With a slightly screwed up expression that meant she was about to argue back, Caitlyn sat back in her seat and crossed her arms again, giving a little shrug.
“Fine. I’ll give it a shot. You set me up with a woman who doesn’t know who I am, and I’ll give it a fair try. See if my horrid personality doesn’t scare her away.”
Believing they keep attracting shallow dates, Vi and Caitlyn separately agree to go ‘undercover’ for their next one, hiding parts of themselves. When they’re unknowingly set up with each other, they both struggle between wanting to being authentic and wanting to stubbornly prove a point, as they’re forced to rely on their personalities to make the relationship work.

Vi knew she wasn’t the only one who had a date with destiny today. She estimated that maybe twenty or so other lucky individuals had been ripped from their comfy cells, to be paraded out in the midday sun in front of the Royal Navy’s finest.
The rattling sounds of trapdoors flopping open, followed by the sharp snap of a rope whiplashing, pulled Vi back to the moment once again. She would’ve looked up to watch, had her chains not been pulled upon sharply by the stout priest beside her.
“Open up”, he chirped, as he tried to slip a gold coin into her scarred mouth. “It’s to see you on your way - a last offering before...”, he continued, miming his neck being slit.
“Mate, where I’m headed - it’s too hot for gold”, she smirked back darkly, motioning down towards the depths of hell with her shackled hands.
OR
A rip-roaring Pirate Vi x Royal Navy Caitlyn tale, plied with healthy amounts of adventure (and whisky), musket and cutlass battles, and lesbian romance on the high seas. Vi just has to find a way to escape the gallows first, if only Cait weren't trying to execute her.

When Caitlyn asks Vi for help she can hardly say no. But leaving the fighting pit behind doesn't mean leaving all of her problems behind too. Alcohol becomes her crutch as Vi tries to ignore all her problems and adjust to enforcer life topside. Things finally come to head in a drugs bust in the undercity and the true reality of Vi's declining mental health leads to a brush with death.
AKA Vi is going through it for reals and rather than asking for help or talking to someone about it she tries to find the answer in the bottom of bottles.
