An awkward silence fills the space between them.
“I understand that this may look rather suspicious.” Wooyoung began, laughing nervously as he tightens his grip around the thick vine.

But here they are—four years after the end of the world— with Wooyoung slumped on Seonghwa’s back, standing at the gates of a safety compound, screaming for help. Begging them to open the gates. To save his brother.
But the gate never budged. Not for the shouting. Not for the crying. Not even for the sound of someone breaking.
If only Choi San hadn’t been the gatekeeper that day.
