19 - Opener | Yokai
It was on a chilly October morning five days ago, the day after the annual Kannamesai festival that the news spread like wildfire of the massacre in the Togetsukyo Bridge District—colloquially known as the “Uchiha Ward”. Naruto had found out later, that every single person registered in the district, Uchiha or not, was dead. Everyone, except for Uchiha Sasuke and Uchiha Itachi.
Shinobi found Sasuke barely breathing, face down in the middle of the Naka Shrine's ancient torii gate while Itachi's body remained missing. The whispers around the hospital were that it was a bad omen. That Itachi had probably been the one to do it and fled, sparring his little brother.
Naruto didn’t know what to believe.
(When an ancient Uchiha curse ravages the village, Naruto does everything in her power to save Sasuke's soul.)

"He gripped the window frame and stared out into Konoha before freezing. Right next to the sun, a full moon was high and present. Ominously it dripped red, swirling in the shape of a sharingan. The Infinite Tsukuyomi."
Alternatively: Sasuke "wakes up" inside the Infinite Tsukuyomi, everyone's dreams have meshed into a single illusion, and he was getting married in a week to Naruto.

Naruto’s own words felt unconvincing: “You’re fucked.”
Sasuke rolled his eyes, “Neji’s aware, if that settles your inherent need to please everyone.”
He felt the heat return to his cheeks, “Shut up.” He insisted, “If that were the case, I’d be in his position, wouldn’t I?”
Sasuke nodded emphatically, “That’s true. Then, I suppose, it’s just reserved for me now?”
Or, Sasuke and Naruto are a little misguided, but really, they're just in love.

Other than the whisper of curtains and the hum of the city's electrical grid, the only sounds in the apartment are them. Naruto's harsh breaths, Sasuke's stuttered groans. The rustle of Sasuke's remaining clothes. The sounds of skin and want, loud and lovely and filling Sasuke's senses like a torrent.
