“Loxodonta cyclotis,” Soundwave spoke, reaching out a servo and allowing the creature to wrap its large facial appendage around it. “African Forest Elephant. Critically Endangered.”
“It is an inferior lifeform,” Shockwave intoned as he stared at the beast. “It has no purpose. It will die like all life on this miserable rock when we are done with it.”
”Soundwave senses intelligence in it,” Soundwave argued, his attention caught completely by the large beast. “It is a peaceful creature.”

“Starscream sent Lord Megatron into a trap!?” Soundwave accused as the seeker sat up the huge throne that stood at the top of the Nemesis’s bridge, a smug look on his face as Thundercracker and Skywarp stood beside his seat. The vehicons manning the consoles dared not turn around to look at the two bickering commanders out of fear of repercussions.
“Well, technically no,” Starscream waved a dismissive servo at the Communications Officer. “I said that Scorponok was on the surface, I didn’t lie.”
”But Starscream did not specify the exact coordinates that Soundwave identified,” Soundwave snarled angrily. “Starscream sent Megatron into a death trap!”

Summary
”Hello Soundwave,” Ultra Magus attempted to smile but it looked awkward on his usually stoic face. “It’s been a long time hasn’t it?”
Soundwave growled. Ultra Magnus and his Elite Guard had also been duped by Sentinel. They had served him. They had not even questioned where or why the entire High Guard had suddenly disappeared, believing the lies that they had died alongside the Primes.
”Ultra Magnus betrayed us,” Soundwave snarled angrily. “You abandoned the High Guard. You lived in luxury while the High Guard starved and died in great numbers on the surface! And now you follow one who demeans our contributions to Cybertron! One who insults the High Guard and sees us as lower!”
Ultra Magnus’s optic dimmed slightly and a look of shame crossed his face for the briefest of kliks before he steeled himself once again.

Summary
“Leave me,” he growled out, already finding himself annoyed by Starscream. “I came for peace and quiet, not to be once again hounded by a cowardly seeker.”
“I am not a coward," Starscream argued but Megatron simply raised his new fusion cannon and angled it at him. Starscream flinched but then his optics narrowed as he observed the weapon before a look of surprise crossed his face. “Why did Soundwave give you that?”
Megatron gritted his denta, servos curling into fists and a dangerous look in his optics.
“Mind your own business, seeker,” Megatron spat out angrily as the barrel of his cannon started to heat up. To the young leader’s surprise Starscream did not back down.
“That weapon belongs to Soundwave, not you, sparkling,” Starscream snarled. “It belonged to his carrier. It was her final gift to him. You will give it back!”
“What Soundwave wishes to do with his own property is his business," Megatron growled as he advanced towards him. “It doesn’t concern you–”

Summary
Months after being betrayed by GHOST, the Cybertronians on Earth are enjoying the first true peace since the beginning of their civil war. Hope for the future of their race exists in the form of the Terrans, who have befriended Autobots and Decepticons alike. However, Megatron quickly realizes that peace is harder to navigate than conflict, and that it may not be possible to repent for his actions during the war. The Terrans look up to him, especially Twitch. But how is he supposed to guide the new generation when he doesn't even understand where he, himself, went so wrong all those years ago?
Or: Guilt is a very powerful thing. Megatron has a near-endless supply, and no-one else seems to think this is a problem.

Summary
Megatron used to hate this blue ball of dirt when he arrived on this planet all those years ago. The grime, the fragility, the sheer insignificance of it on a grander scale. Years later, walking among the people, admiring its beauty, and guiding the next generation of Cybertronians. Cybertronians that were components of both Cybertron and Earth.
How did this even happen in the first place? And Megatron couldn’t help but wonder: if he didn’t fall in love with Earth, would he have loved the Terrans all the same?

Perhaps the broken halves fight for dominance in the frame. The winner shutting the other out. The host left unaware.
But this story isn’t about the winning half of the spark. The one that won the war. No.
This is about the half that lost.
