Summary
This is a short story I wrote for my writing class inspired by the painting Nighthawks by Edward Hoper.
I have to say I'm pretty happy about how it turned out so I thought I would share it! :)
The story happens in America in 1941 and I won't say anymore because 1) I suck at summaries and 2) I don't want spoil anything.

Summary
After the chaos of the Planet Alignment, everyone eventually returns to their normal, cartoonishly circular orbits. But things don’t exactly go back to normal.
The Sun is furious, silent, distant, and radiating a cold kind of anger that somehow feels worse than shouting. No one dares to approach him… except Earth, who can’t stop thinking about how much the Sun wanted life to exist, and how important he is to every living thing on Earth’s surface.
So the planet decides he needs to talk to his star. Neither Earth nor the Sun expects what that conversation will become. Once emotions begin to spill out, the Sun is forced to truly look at himself as more than just a powerful star. He must confront what kind of leader he has been…
And what kind of leader he wants to be.

When he wakes up again, it’s in a random alleyway in a city full of smog and the smell of guns and chemicals. His body is seizing and his body isn’t cooperating with him and fucking hell, why are fridges so fast?!
