In the marble halls of the Vatican, they must navigate the use of their names depending on the constantly shifting nature of conversations, from the formal and the sacred to the comfortable and intimate. Who are they to each other, and who are they when in service of God?
This series of vignettes chronicles their relationship across 13 years. Inspired by a few comments I’ve seen online about how Prevost was destined to be pope, the new Peter, the Rock upon which the Church stands, while Tagle was meant to take on the role of John, the most faithful apostle, also known as the Beloved.
