Summary
Eren decides to take a year to work on his thesis in Shiganshina, the myth-wreathed city of his ancestors in central Europe. The town is charming and slightly spooky, and old beyond what his young American worldview can grasp, but in an age of smartphones and satellites his grandmother's stories seem like little more than fairytales.
At least until his blood spills on the cobbled streets and he finds himself haunted by otherworldly entities convinced he has something they want.
His grandmother never mentioned those.

Summary
Eren is a 22 years old recent college graduate who is driven by passions about social justice and making his favourite social network more accessible to its millions of users. He might be a crypto genius on the side and sought after by many companies, but reality is harsh when his idealism is relentless and he wants to make a change in the world, not just succumb to its shitty rules.
Enter Levi, 35 years old newly promoted front-end software architect at the said social network, with a history of hacktivism and a current hobby of making encrypted chatting tools for journalists and activists. Also a long-time fan of Eren's very own 'extension framework'. He might also be a casual stalker of Eren's personal blog. And perhaps has a wee bit of a (healthy) crush on the young man.
But there is no way that they can actually meet and connect... Or is there?

Summary

No Reins is a story about loyalty, horsemanship and the desire for something better- along with a speckling of love along the way, of course!

Summary
Levi plays Bon Jovi and Journey and Michael Jackson, and actually mumbles along to Billy Joel’s “Piano Man” with a wry smirk at the corner of his mouth. He’s halfway through it when he hears someone outside singing along, loudly but not awfully, and if he hadn’t been playing piano professionally for years now, his hands would have stumbled. As it were, he finishes the song, and then sits at his piano, staring blankly before him as the applause, once again, trickles in through his window.

Summary
He needn't have worried. The small one was strong.
He sees the human many more times since then. It seems as if the herd doesn't venture out without it. He wonders if that one is the pack-leader. It seems logical, but humans are not always creatures of logic.
He forces back memories of that one, and continues to shadow the herd whenever it ventures out. He makes a habit of waiting in the small grouping of trees near the gate so as not to miss one of their outings. Eventually he learns to distinguish the small one from the others even before it takes to the air, and he feels proud of this accomplishment.
Months later, only hours after the humans had returned behind their walls, everything changes.
(In which Eren is not a human that can turn into a Titan, but a Titan that can turn into a human.)

A different kind of reincarnation fic, but incredibly realistic regarding mental health and conflicts of identity, and everything is beautifully crafted. Eren/Oscar and Levi are both strangers to me and yet so impossibly close to their canon selves. Also the fic with the widest representation of gender, ethnic, and religious diversity I've read yet. I'm a little in awe.
