i throw all the life series members into a lab pretty much.
They all were sold at young ages to a lab run by, what they call, Watchers.

Martyn is a sophmore in highschool, and he sneaks out, goes to parties and drinks. Martyn's mom is sick of it, she makes him go spend the summer with his Aunt Lizzie and Uncle Joel.
He thinks he is going to hate the town...he comes to realize that maybe its not all that bad, he even meets an endearing blue-haired boy.

Summary
He’s a marine biology student so it’s a nice place to take samples of the water and its plant life, even watching when kinds of fish live there.
Martyn pulls back the branches of a tree, walking out onto the small line of sand.
Something on the small beach catches his eye, light blue standing out against the dull shine of a sharp barbed metal fishing net.

The siren let out a sharp bark, beating his tail in surprise. Wires dug into his scales and skin, tangling further as he tried to regain his bearings. Scott tried to pull at the net with taloned hands, but all his efforts yelled were sliced palms, the metal barbs digging into his skin.
Despite his desperate struggle, Scott’s eyelids grew heavier and heavier, until they slipped shut as consciousness escaped him.
or, Scott is a mer who gets trapped in a fishing net, Martyn is a marine biology student who finds him and bring his home to take care of.

Summary
Ren walks towards the thrown his father sits upon. The glamour concealed axe in his hands weighs heavy in his grip.
He stops next to his father's thrown, his smaller one next to it.
Ren's eyes catch that or Martyn's blue from where the blond stands in the crowd in the thrown room.
Martyn nods and Ren looks back towards his father, dropping the his glamour on the axe.
He swings the axe, chopping the head off his father's head, continuing generations of sons killing their fathers for the thrown.
Blood sprays his face, he lets go of the axe now lodged in the back of the thrown.
He pulls the crown off the king's body-less head, "THE RED KING HAS FALLEN!"
or, Martyn and Ren, one human, one dog hybrid with royal status. How will they navigate their world with their unusual love and how it came to be in the first place.
