Currently on Chapter Three (as that is all that's posted right now, obviously).
Since this is the sequel to The Promise, it's already got that on its side.So far, it's not as emotional as The Promise, but it's beautiful in different ways. It's really unique as far as any Shadow and Maria fanfictions tend to go (most of them stop right after the ARK, but this one follows even beyond what looks like the end).

This is hands-down one of the best Sonic the Hedgehog fanfictions I've read. It has been a few years since I read it the first time (though I've revisited since), but to this day I still remember the memorable quotes and lines from this story. If you read it (and please do), expect to be filled with this hopeful, longing filling, but then expect that to waver into dismay several times while the story builds, until you aren't sure whether hope or tragedy will be the ending take-away feeling. And of course, you know how Shadow and Maria's story goes. But this story provides so much more detail and backstory, their story won't feel like the same story you once knew when you read this.
