Summary
In a twist of fate, James Lake Junior disappeared mere days after his tenth birthday. His body was never found.
Five years later, Atlas is a normal teenage boy, who just happens to work for a murderous secretive organization of shape-changing trolls. It's not so bad though. The healthcare is free at least.
Until he finds a magical amulet.
This must be some sort of mistake. Atlas can't be the Trollhunter. Merlin was insane. He worked for the Janus Order for Pale Lady's sake. What was that stupid wizard thinking?
Suffice to say, things get...interesting.

Summary
Yet another ‘Jim is a Changeling’ AU, with a twist! Instead of being canon-compliant for a while before Jim gets caught off-guard by turning trollish, he’s a Changeling in the usual way and aware that the human James Lake Junior is his Familiar.
Changeling Jim enjoyed his cover. Human food was far better than troll food. Dr Barbara Lake was an affectionate mother, but absent often enough that his duties to the Janus Order went unnoticed. The neighbour Toby was acceptable company and kept Jim from looking suspicious for having no friends his apparent age. Once in high school, he could slip reports directly to Stricklander along with mundane homework.
And then, of course, Merlin’s Amulet just had to choose Jim as the next Trollhunter.

Summary
The Revered Ragno Garanthar of the Eastern Millside would actually not like to spend his last five years as a teenager in some middle-of-nowhere finishing school, so, when given the option to go to the Kal Asterock on scholarship (literally the only way his parents would ever allow him to go), he takes it without thinking.
Should he have maybe put some more thought into Goyen Nagatatsu's offer? Probably. Is Lilas still not over the fact he somehow got her wrapped up in an All-Stars game before they even actually got to know each other? Yeah, but she was on Captain Tournefeuille's radar now and the Knights needed a new player; she'd forgive him when she went Pro!
The only real problem that he actually had to deal with was that Goyen Nagatatsu's son was probably going to set him on fire before Banner Trials. That was going to be a whole thing.
OR;
A swap au. It's essentially just a swap au. There're a ton of moving pieces, though.
