She couldn’t even imagine how invasive that would be, to never be unobserved. To feel like you were being watched and know it was true. Fuck, the idea of going through puberty with scientists taking notes on you like a lab rat made her skin crawl. It was a comparatively small thing next to Research’s other crimes, a glance out the window was enough to tell you what happened when they fucked around and the rest of the world found out, but it still made her sick to consider. That had been his whole life.
Then it clicked. The reason he was hiding out in a bathroom instead of on a roof where no one could get to him or one of the hidey holes he disappeared to when no one needed him. His specific mention of privacy. Of course.
“Oh,” she said out loud and she winced at how loaded the word was.
Zoe finds Dylan in a delicate position and offers assistance.

Astarion raised one hand to throw his dagger at the man, only for his fingers to spasm. The blade fell from his fingers, clattering to the floor. Both his arms convulsed, and his dirk joined the dagger on the floor. His chest seized, robbing him of breath, and he could only look at the intruder in shock before he collapsed, paralysis taking hold of him.
Slow, heavy footsteps stomped toward him, no longer trying to be quiet. A thick boot nudged him in the ribs. Astarion’s mind whirled, screaming at himself to get up, get away, stab him, bite him, flee, fight, fucking anything! All he managed was a twitch of a finger and nothing more.
