Summary
They already call it the war to end all wars. Obi-Wan Kenobi has been in it for almost two years, when in walks Anakin Skywalker. Even though corporal Kenobi does not like him at all a first, he warms up to him soon. Anakin is eager to prove himself, but unprepared for the reality of war. Will the two of them come together, despite all that comes in between? And will they walk out of the trenches alive one day?

Ferus encounters a memory-wiped Darth Vader, who with no recollection of being Vader, is nothing more than a frightened and badly wounded Anakin Skywalker. Against his better judgment, Ferus begins nursing Anakin back to health, with the intent of returning him to his Master, Obi-Wan, all while wrestling with the harsh reality of who Anakin had been - an evil, masked Sith who had just recently murdered his husband.

Wet, startlingly cold tears washed clean streaks through the soot and grime on his face as he stared almost blindly down at Anakin. It wasn’t supposed to happen like this. Anakin was the Chosen One, he was supposed to save the Jedi.
And yet.
And yet, here they were. A Sith and a Jedi, so heartbreakingly similar in all the wrong ways.

Obi-Wan can't leave Anakin to burn on Mustafar, but taking him and fleeing might not have been the best idea either. Anakin struggles between himself, between Vader and Anakin, all the while Obi-Wan tries to keep Anakin out of Palpatine's hands.
