The second Naruto starts coughing, he knows. In fact, he can almost say he saw it coming--perhaps he doesn’t catch colds, and maybe he’s only suffered fever once or twice, but this? This is different.
This is dirt and roots and leaves, this is flower petals on his pillowcase, sweet, floral perfume on his breath, taste of metal on the back of his tongue. This is Hanahaki, the pining sickness: unrequited love as a painful, lethal disease.
This is something the Kyuubi cannot protect him from.

Summary
Venti realized something was wrong. His songs and tales came out as normal, but he found himself stumbling and having to change his wording. They would catch in his throat, threatening to choke him if he wasn’t so quick to phrase things differently. Other than a few quizzical looks here and there, no one seemed to really pick up on it.
By the time the sun sets and most people have left the area, Venti finds himself sitting on his statue's hands. He closes his eyes as a breeze comes by, and quietly he says, “My name is-I like to go by Venti.”
“I'm nothing but a simple-I enjoy playing as a Bard.”
“Melted cheese is the most deli-di-digusting thing ever.”
His brow twitches. “The one I want to see most right now is-”He cuts himself off.
“Oh no,” He mumbles, taping his lips lightly. He’s not sure if he feels amused or irritated at this predicament. “This will be a little troublesome.”

He chuckled as he was hit with a memory of his own, not because it was particularly funny - quite the opposite - but because it explained some of the missing details of his alter's story. Of course, Steven didn't know this had happened and looked hurt by the sound; his eyes widened and his posture sinking further in on himself.
"Sorry bud, I'm not meaning to laugh at you. It's just that, I realized, I think I'm part of the reason you're scared of cats."

What’s the most interesting thing about Kogane is the kids attached to him. Specifically, the five year old blonde girl attached to his right leg, a six year old boy attached to his left one, and another three year old kid hanging off his bicep.
Shiro gapes at Kogane and blurts out, “Did you kidnap these kids?”
Kogane glares heavily back, eyes full of intense dislike as he presses his lips together. “Are you kidding me? You think I’d willingly inflict these brats on myself?”

Summary
Disillusioned with his career at the Garrison after yet another promotion takes him out of the field, Shiro retires and buys an old inn online, sight unseen. But there’s a problem: it needs work. There’s also a solution, in the form of Keith: a shy, capable handyman who offers to help Shiro renovate the inn.
Keith is beautiful and competent and takes care of Shiro without even realizing it; in turn, Shiro finds himself coaxing Keith out of his shell. But when was the last time a renovation went according to plan?
