Summary

Kaworu’s lips curved faintly, not quite a smile but something that carried the same intent. “To sit with you beneath the stars, or remain by your side until the night feels less heavy. If that is not enough…” His tone softened further, almost coaxing.

As time goes on, the "research" gets weirder, and Shinji learns things about his father's work he never wanted to know.
