Summary
A year after Maruki's palace, Akechi crashed back into Akira's life. Now Akira's former rival has turned into a permanent guest in his apartment. But living with Akechi was hard. The worst part was how Akechi had been brought down to something normal and incredibly real. He left his jacket slung over the kitchen chair and fell asleep on the couch in the middle of reading some important book he insisted wasn’t boring. He put knives in the dishwasher with the blades pointing up and got huffy when Akira beat him at fighting games.
He was kind of a disaster.
That hadn’t helped the pathetic crush Akira had been nursing. If anything, it had somehow made it worse. When Akechi asked him how long it took to microwave ramen, Akira had to call on all his willpower to not kiss him right there in their tiny, shitty kitchen.
(In which Akira is terrified of second chances and Akechi never expected to live past twenty. Somehow they make it work.)

When I received the call, the warden seemed bewildered that you were even here at all.” It was a phone call that Naoto would not soon forget—the chilling way that the warden seemed to continually forget what he was asking mid-sentence, unable to latch onto Akechi’s name as if his existence was something contingent on his direct and immediate presence.
Akechi bared his teeth, eyes in shadow. “Nobody has ever known what to do with me,” he said, voice dripping acid.
“Then, this should be refreshing for you,” he said, delighting in the way that Akechi’s gaze sharpened as Naoto plucked a nonexistent piece of lint from his coat. “You’re coming with me. To Inaba.”
At the end of P5R, the world forgets Akechi.

Summary
“You said you’d show me who you really are. I’m still waiting.” Kurusu tilts his head back then, and it’s fascinating, watching Joker appear, all swagger and confidence and a gaze fierce enough to make Goro burn. “You show me yours, Akechi, and I’ll show you mine.”
It’s part taunt and part promise, but it’s not the means that stun Goro. It’s the ends. Kurusu wants to see him, he wants to know Goro, wholly and completely, without any pretense or artifice. No one has ever wanted that from Goro, not even his mother. There were parts of him not even she could love, the parts he’d inherited from Shido. It had been with her that he’d first learned how to hide his howling heart. But now Kurusu asks for it, he demands it from Goro, in full knowledge of who Goro is and what he has done, and Kurusu promises to reveal his own heart, so long suppressed and concealed, in return.

Summary

Two years later, when the Phantom Thieves begin wreaking havoc upon their plans, Haru would be delighted to join forces with them and wreck some Palaces – but Akechi refuses to even entertain the possibility of giving up his own plan and trusting anyone other than Haru to have his back.
Then Haru makes a deal with the Phantom Thieves, and the decision’s taken out of Akechi’s hands.

Summary
Akira was bound by his promises, The weight of responsibility and his sense of loyalty to his friends were the chains he couldn't unshackle, and he wasn't even sure he'd really want to if he could. He just wished with all his heart that he could free Goro from his own chains.
Akira pulled his sleeve free of Goro's fingers, and moved to twine their hands together instead, "... If we could… where would we go?"
Entreating Goro's wishful thinking probably wasn't healthy. But Akira was angry and exhausted with reality. He knew he couldn't escape it, he couldn't prevent the catastrophic demise about to befall their precarious relationship, but maybe he could be allowed to dream about a future that didn't exist.
