Summary
This is literally just my attempt at a season two because season one ended and I took that personally.
Stede tries to get his damned man back and has to properly pirate for once, Izzy deals with the absolute backfire of encouraging Ed's worst impulses, Ed krakens his little heart out until he hears news from Barbados (three guesses), and the crew are appropriately and adorably frustrated with these two morons.
I envisioned each chapter being an episode and even threw in an end credit song for you.

“Now that I’m no longer beholden to a rather arbitrary moral code, I have to ask: Do you pay taxes? Actually, more importantly, do you think I can stop paying taxes now? That seems like a sufficiently demonic thing to do. Refusing to do my civic duty and whatnot. Quite devious, I’d argue.”
This was, in hindsight, not the most sensitive way of breaking the news.

It is so hard to find well written, good mash fic and this one I could see in my head just like the show. That is more than I can ask for a fic based around something dark, with hope and humour stitched through it. Lovely!

But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)

I love that years after I obsessed over the episodes as they aired week-to-week I can come back and find jewels like this that aren't too dark or angsty or cynical and still feel in character. Beautiful!
