Summary
After Aziraphale returns from Edinburgh (end of S2 Ep4), a mysterious downpour from above sends Crowley back into the shelter of the bookshop, forcing him to look into his angel's eyes and attempt to admit that they are made for each other.
But, the course of true love never did run smooth. Hijinks and vavoom-ing and angst ensue through the Season 2 canon and beyond.

Aziraphale turns around. Crowley’s glasses are off and his eyes are blown wide with something like an answering craving to Aziraphale’s own. And also fear. Definitely fear.
“Right. Ok. Mmmm. I think it’s now or never, angel.”
Aziraphale can only stare. But Crowley seems to be waiting for an answer, for permission to proceed. They stand there together, their gazes locked, on the edge of the precipice they’ve been dancing along for 6,000 years. Water still drips from the hems of Crowley’s clothes and onto the floor in a quiet, hypnotic rhythm.
Aziraphale manages to take a shaky breath. And then he nods.

For 6000 Years, Crowley and Aziraphale have shared an eternity of experiences together. As the two grew closer, they inevitably fell into each other's arms in more ways than one. There's one problem: Crowley has only ever known Aziraphale to enjoy the company of male lovers, and Crowley's preferred Effort is decidedly... not that.
Not a big deal, right? He can just change his Effort to make sure Aziraphale is happy. Crowley loves Aziraphale. He'd do anything to make him happy. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

But he did not get to finish his sentence. I turned toward him and closed the space between us, in a way strangely reminiscent of what happened years ago in the bookshop, and touched his lips with mine.Alternating between POV Crowley and POV Aziraphale.

Summary
Crowley feels his return only a week later, and although every single part of him is resisting, he seeks him out. He’s at the bookshop, or rather, in the street in front of the bookshop, and if Crowley didn’t know better, he’d say he was waiting for him.
He looks different. A week shouldn’t be enough to change him so much, but it is. He’s wearing a haughty, almost smug, expression, his face glowing in a way that makes him look powerful and frightening. He’s wearing a suit just like the one the other angels wear, and even though it suits his frame, it’s not him. He looks like what he is: a supreme archangel of Heaven.
And it’s all wrong.

This was it, the first time they were actually free to finally figure out what their side entailed.
Aziraphale is a being of love. Always has been. And now, all the love he has for Crowley is free to flow from the edge of his fingertips to the demon's, in a gesture that could only mean one thing; I'm with you. I'm here.
As much as his hands itch to reach out for the love of his existence, his words seem to fail him, time and time again. He knows Crowley deserves more than gentle hand holding and forehead kisses in the dark. He aches to scream his love from the top of his lungs, for the whole world to hear. And the demon knows it.
And he waits. Because he'll wait forever for Aziraphale. Because he knows they are meant to be one.We take a peek into Aziraphale and Crowley's "peaceful, fragile existence" they slowly carve out for themselves after Armage-not. We get to see Aziraphale slowly but surely reach out for the demon time and time again, bringing them closer than ever.

Did Aziraphale just confess, in hushed tones, that he liked having Crowley around? Liked having him sleep on his couch at odd hours of the night? Was this real life? Did his ears feel suddenly warm? Crowley pressed his burnt tongue against the roof of his mouth to remind himself he still had a body.
It's been about a week since the apocalypse was averted, and they are prepared to slowly carve out an existence with each other. They've both decided they want to be together, and, as always, not told the other one anything about it (yet). It's going well, until their bosses call and tell them they have to train their replacements.

“You are,” Crowley agrees. Because he kissed Aziraphale, damn it, and he’d been rejected. It’s not fair for him to keep coming around like this, like he can jerk on Crowley’s chain and he’ll come running back, a pretty demon pet for the Supreme Archangel. “You are incredibly selfish, Aziraphale, always asking for more than I’m willing to give. I’m not some pet you can keep on the end of a leash. You made it clear that you don’t love me, so get the fuck out of my life.”
Aziraphale’s head snaps up, eyes blazing, and Crowley has exactly two seconds to think oh, fuck –
In an eerily familiar move, Aziraphale crosses the floor, seizes him by the lapels of his jacket, and pulls him into a desperate kiss.
Crowley flounders for all of three seconds before he kisses back, anguish and pain giving way to bone-deep pleasure and rightness.
When Aziraphale does pull back, gasping for breath, he doesn’t go far. Just pants, open-mouthed, against Crowley’s lips. “Don’t… you… ever,” he gasps, “think that.”
Five times Aziraphale and Crowley argue, and the one time they don't.

Those hadn't been the words sitting at the tip of his tongue. Far from it.
But it didn't matter. Those had been the words he spoke, and he couldn't take them back now.

Crowley has to find out some way to keep existing, in spite of the pain of their loss.Meanwhile, in Heaven, Aziraphale tries his damned hardest to stay true to his purpose and principles. But Heaven's light has always been capable of corruption, it's just that the full force of it has never been directed at him.
A reunion (and tears, and apologies) are inevitable.
