They were his brothers, and Crosshair thought they could take on the galaxy together. He didn't even think of the possibility of all of them not staying together forever. But all that began to change the moment a new cadet was suddenly added to their squad, a kid with big goggles and an even bigger brain.
The prequel to my story Settling In, where we get to see where Crosshair and Tech came from, what happened to all their previous brothers, and how they ended up a part of Clone Force 99.

He takes it, deciding to add it to the rest of his collection, unaware that the mask has dangerous attachments and Rook is thrown into the middle of a string of gruesome murders and rumors. Unknowing that the mask is at the center of a far more religious and problematic catastrophe not foreseen by the Father with unlikely saviors rising to his rescue.

Of course, Tang is up for the task! There's nothing his intellect can't get around to!
When he ends up a few hundred years in the past with two spider demons on his butt he needs to make allies and by the god of plot purpose, ends up with two very powerful monkeys.
Who seem to be at the end of their partnership.
Well, no one ever said it was going to be easy. Plus, a bit of couples counseling never hurt anybody! After all, he just needs them to stick around long enough for him to be able to get back home without getting attached. Not that hard.
