This is an A/U story. I finally watched Jarhead 2 with Danielle, and seeing her in those BDU's got me thinking of this idea. I really do not know who will be involved, other than Torres at this point, but I'm going to go with it. I do have a medical background and I enjoy adding that in when I can. **OK, the actual summary- Maya is a Marine and she is injured in battle. Carina is a doctor(not an OB) at the Military Hospital that Maya is taken to. The rating starts off M, but may change later on. After Maya’s release, they did take some time to reconnect, talk, and offer apologies, but ultimately Maya felt that in order for her to heal her mind and body completely, they needed to take some time apart. Maya did not want Carina to become another goal or win, she needed to get better for herself and Carina, and did not want to hold Carina back. Carina was reluctant, but ultimately respected Maya’s needs. They agreed that if they were meant to be together, they would find themselves back to each other naturally. After Carina experiences a horrific trauma a couple years later, she is left trying to figure out how to feel like herself and live her life the way she wants to again.
