Summary

Ranboo tried to lower his chin, but the villain had a death grip, not letting his nemesis go.

Summary
It was about a year ago that Ranboo first spat out purple petals coated in blood. They’d been horrified, not that he didn’t know about the disease, but this confirmed the absolute truth that Tubbo simply didn’t care about him any longer. Enderians were known for getting Hanahaki quickly if they ever bonded since it wasn’t very much their nature to fall in love. Still, Ranboo had promised his sister he wouldn’t get it.
Tubbo had asked him once, why he coughed so much. Ranboo had nervously laughed it was just from being in a different biome than he was used to, and that it didn’t hurt him. He hid his petals and blood in pillows that he pressed against him in his sleep.

There’s a brief second of relief, pure relief, that makes Tubbo sigh with content. Ranboo is already up and gone, probably moving around the kitchen, making breakfast for their son.
Tubbo feels old.

Summary
Tubbo stared down at his webbed fingers, knowing that this time, he'd really screwed up. Everyone knew if you spent too long with mer you'd transform into one yourself, but Tubbo had been working with them for years. Sure, he had adopted a mer hatchling, been accepted into Ranboo's pod—hell, he had been camping on a beach for the past week. But he couldn't become a mer, he couldn't leave land behind. He couldn't leave Tommy behind, could he?
But to stop transforming he'd have to cut contact with Ranboo, abandon Michael, his son. Could he even be a proper parent to Michael as a human? Would Ranboo kick him out for not wanting to change?
Tubbo had really screwed up, and now he had to choose between his human family and his mer one.Or: The author read 20 dark mer fics in a row and went "well what would a fic look like with a mer turning being consensual?"
And yes, the title is a reference to the vine :DSeries
