Summary
In their final year of college in Boston, Wednesday and Enid are finally stable, in love, and actively planning a shared post-grad future. Then a family crisis forces Enid back to California, and Wednesday is left alone in their apartment.
Until she receives an urgent call from Agnes DeMille, who is grieving, expelled from Nevermore, and effectively homeless.

“But here-” Enid scribbles something on a sticky note and offers it over. Wednesday takes it delicately between index finger and thumb, as though it might be diseased.
“What is this?”

She’s almost to the car door when Enid’s voice shouts, “Wait!” and a weight collides into her. Agnes takes in a sharp breath as Enid’s arms wrap around her, holding her close. “I’ll miss you,” Enid whispers.
Agnes slowly buries her face into her shoulder and grips onto Enid’s sweater. She’s never been missed before.

“Oh my god, hi!” The blonde beamed at her when Wednesday approached her directly. “I haven’t seen you here before, are you new? I can totes help you! If you need me to show you around, I can do that too! You approached the right person for the job. Don’t worry, the homeless shelter isn’t that scary.”
“You could say so.” Wednesday replied flatly, doing a once-over. “You are a very hard woman to track down, Kara Danvers. Or should I say, Enid Sinclair.”
Like clockwork, all of the color basically drained from Enid’s face.
