Summary
The equal loathing that Prince Daemon Targaryen and Lady Rhea Royce had for their marrige was no secret. The shock of Rhea's violent death shook the Vale and the realm at large, with Daemon's behavior afterward leaving the royal family in a precarious position. But no one expected the supposed daughter of Rhea and Daemon to arrive in King's Landing only weeks after her death and Daemon's departure to Pentos. Princess Aelin Targaryen's existence will force the Crown to confront the rift in their family and, for better or for worse, change the events to come.
I've been thinking a lot about how such small changes to the story, such as Rhea and Daemon having a child, would have drastically changed the outcome of the Dance of Dragons. So I decided to write it.
