The dark eyes locking in when passing by a man late at night alone, trying to appear confident and certain in every step, every breath made. The darkness that snapped into place in men's eyes at clubs after sweetly rejecting them that came with a hot hand pressing against the lower part of your back.
In the years of working in the medical field, Mel had seen the look many times, but never like this - never when she was cornered and alone.

Tecna opened her eyes, trying to regain some sense of awareness through her skull-splitting headache and the endless, frigid, creeping feeling sliding down her spine and into her veins.
The all-consuming sensation of power and adrenaline and pure magic had vanished as soon as it had appeared. It was replaced by an all-consuming weakness, and for the first time in probably ever, Tecna’s head was void of logical thinking.
She should be dead.

Timmy reached for Tecna’s hand again slowly, speaking softly as he did, “Is it okay if I hold your hand?”
Tecna didn’t answer, not that Timmy really expected her to, but her hand didn’t twitch away either. In fact, the smallest of sighs left her and her hand rolled over slightly, leaving her palm facing up, perfect for him to slip his own into. Her hand was cool in his, as it usually was, her skin no longer holding the icy frigidness that the Omega dimension had brought to it.
“I missed you,” he told her quietly. “A lot. I knew you were out there somewhere and it killed me that I didn’t know how to reach you.”
Tecna goes into shock after returning from the Omega Dimension, but Timmy's there to hold her hand through it. For Febuwhump Day 23 prompt: "Don't leave".

“Musa,” he said again and she found herself looking at him. He looked pale and more worried than she thought she’d ever seen him before. “Let me see.”
Musa and Riven might not be together anymore, but nothing brings exes closer together like a little knife wound. For Febuwhump Day 5: "let me see".

He could picture it, that place inside her, where her power had once resided, now empty and dull where it had once been full of light and life.
“Time to move,” Riven said. “The girls are almost in position.”
The guys rose, moving silently through the hallway, preparing to breach the main chamber from one side, while the girls came in from the other side. They were just waiting to hear confirmation that the girls were ready, when they heard it.
A guttural, blood-curdling scream.
When a power-hungry wizard kidnaps Bloom, Sky and the others race to save her and just hope that they aren't out of time. For Febuwhump Day 7 prompt: used as an experiment.

Peter hums in agreement.
“When they, uh, when they’re pretty shaken up-” fearing for their lives, goes unsaid, “-they curl up, remember? They play dead, the death curl,” Tony explains, growing more and more certain as he talks.
“That’s what this is? How do we fix it? You said the threat was gone,” Peter asks, the trust he puts in Tony so apparent in his words.
“Well, I could always carry you back to the quinjet. I’m sure you’ll naturally just decompress on the way back,” Tony shrugs. He’s not entirely assured of his ability to support Peter’s weight at his age but he’ll grit his teeth and give it a go regardless. If not, he has a plethora of enhanced beings to choose from.
“You are not carrying me,” Peter says firmly.
Or: After a nasty shock in battle, Peter finds himself stuck curled up and has to calm himself down in order to regain mobility.
