Bruce wakes with a snort and a crick in his neck.
Wincing, he picks his twinging neck up slowly, blinking grit out of his eyes. The tv is still on, flickering in the otherwise dark room.
“Is it possible… that aliens are responsible for the tragic wreck of the Titanic?” a narrator is asking.
Tim is still dead weight across his legs. Bruce can feel a damp patch on his sweatpants where he’s drooled on him.
Bruce digs his phone out of his pocket, careful not to disturb him.
4:32am.
Fuck.
Tim was due to be woken up for a concussion check over three hours ago.
“Tim,” he murmurs, rough with sleep. “Wake up, bud.” He shakes him gently.
When he doesn’t stir, he shakes him again, harder, sighing softly - Tim always is dead to the world on the rare occasions he actually sleeps. “Tim,” he repeats, louder, a normal speaking volume.
He tugs on his shoulder, rolling him towards Bruce.
There’s no resistance.

"Roy, this is stupid," Jason grumbles, yanking off his jacket and chucking it at the floor. Roy picks it up without missing a beat, putting it on the coat hanger where it belongs.
"No, Jason, this is necessary," Roy returns calmly. Jason wants to beat that patient expression off his face with a baseball bat. Or maybe a crowbar.
A growl builds low in his throat, and he pulls angrily at his chest harness.
"Calm the fuck down," Roy orders, Alpha command in his voice. Jason's growl quiets, then picks back up again twice as loud when Jason realizes Roy's affect on him. "And this is why you need to be on standby," Roy sighs.

We can take our time to get your room as comfortable as we can, I just want you to have your own space here.”
Oh. Tim gets it now. He’s a little slow, but he’s finally comprehending.
Maybe the Waynes didn’t have a discipline room before, but they’re about to make one. A whole room just to punish him in. Daddy would be so proud.

He raps lightly on the door frame, and Bruce looks up from his paperwork, the lines of concentration on his face falling away to be replaced by a smile as he sees Tim.
“Hey,” he says, turning in his chair to face him. “It’s good to see you. How was your check-up?”
The lines around his eyes are deeper than they used to be, a few strands of gray peeking through at his temples that weren’t there a year ago.
Tim smiles back, holding up the small pharmacy bag in his hand. “Got my antibiotics.”
He walks over, dropping down on the couch, the leather seat soft and familiar beneath him. He can feel his father’s careful gaze like a weight, knows he can pick up on the tension in Tim’s frame, the way his fingers crinkle the plastic bag nervously. He doesn’t bother to try and disguise his anxiety, just gets to the point. “I have to go off my suppressants.”

"It’s four o’clock in the fucking morning what the hell do you want?” Came Jason’s rough, annoyed voice. It was the best thing Tim’s ever heard. “Why’dya sound like you’ve been running a marathon?”
Tim opened his mouth to respond but the only thing that came out was a low, distressed keen. Calling for pack. Screaming that he wasn’t okay.
“Shit,” he heard Jason curse. There was a shuffling on the other end and the slamming of things opening and closing.
“Where are you?” Jason’s voice was low and urgent.

Tim deserves to be punished. He needs to be. It’s the only way to fix him. His Mommy is smart, she’d know how to fix it. She’d know exactly how much to hurt him to make it all better.
So he does what she would do. He pulls himself away from the warmth of the blankets, hating the way the movement stings against his renewed rash. It never really goes away, with how prevalent this particular problem is. Nothing Tim does prevents the nightmares. Mrs. Mac had to put a plastic sheet on his bed to keep him from ruining the mattress.
He crawls over the border of pillows, barely keeping from toppling to the floor. He’d deserve it, if he fell, but that’s too loud. He can’t dare wake them. He already has a whole list of mistakes he ought to be disciplined for, he doesn’t need awakening them early to be added. Sometimes Daddy is gentler after a good night’s sleep. Maybe Mr. Wayne and his sons will be too.
